Boston, Feb 8: Cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment in USA, has all the good wishes and support being poured in by the biggies as well as his fans from India while the sportsperson also for the first time tweeted to thank his well wishers on Wednesday.
"Thank you again to all my friends back home! I'm recovering well yes its tough but tough times don't last tough men do ! I will fight and.."Come back as a stronger man cause I have the prayers of my nation ! Thank you to the media for there support and respecting my privacy," he wrote. "Overwhelmed with the love and support people have given me, I feel joy in my heart that so many wishes. Will cure me! Iv read every tweet .." he said.
"Every fan who has wished me watched all videos ! Seen how many prayers are said in temples ! I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!" "and of course everyday I look forward to come back and wear my india jersey my india cap and represent my country again jai hind," he tweeted. He thanked politicians like Omar Abdullah, Narendra Modi and Ajay Maken for their kind words.
He said the BCCI and its president have been of great support besides his Guruji and they should not be blamed for any delay in treatment. "... because of them I'm getting the best treatment ! Thank you again bcci," he tweeted. He said his physiotherapist Jatin Chaudhary is at no fault since he only tried to help and it was his decision to go with alternative medicine. Earlier, tweets rained wishing his recovery. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan recently tweeted, “ @yuvsingh09 Thats the spirit ! Keep it going, we all are with you in prayer ." He earlier expressed his ‘shock’ about the news and even lent an advice to the cricketer. He tweeted, “Shocked to learn of Yuvraj Singh down with cancer..Yuvraj if you read this, know that we all pray for you..All shall and will be well”, adding, “Yuvraj, get up in the morning and say it out loud - “Everyday in every way I am getting better and better !! “You will!!”
Gracious actress Dia Mirza tweeted, “Very upset to hear about Yuvraj! Let's pray for his recovery. I know he's a fighter and he'll win this match.” Sanjay Manjrekar, a former Indian cricketer, tweeted, “devastated to learn about the malignant tumor of yuvi..praying with all my heart for his speedy recovery." Cricketer and close Singh-pal Harbhajan Singh went a step ahead and even requested media to respect Yuvraj’s privacy, saying, “I request media to respect @yuvsingh09’s privacy and allow him to concentrate on his recovery. He will be back with a bang.”, adding, “Whatever @yuvsingh09 is dealing with, we need to support him n leave him alone and allow him to recover soon. He is a born fighter.”
At the same time Yuvraj Singh has rubbished all reports published in a daily regarding his cancer. He tweeted, "just to clear I haven't given interview to any newspaper since I have come here, and will speak to media only when I come back. Thanks". Yuvraj Singh's oncologist Nikesh Rohatagi on Monday said that he "feels that the cricketer will commence training in ten weeks." He said the cricketer has a tumour between his lungs. He said that Singh's "has a rare type of seminoma which is completely curable." Rohtagi said that Singh is 'responding well' to the treatment. Singh's father Yograj said his son will come out strong from the malignant tumour in his lung, for which he is undergoing treatment in the US while sports minister Ajay Maken assured government help for the embattled star cricketer.
