 Getting
Started
Bengali crossword is free. To play you have to be a member
of banglalive.com.
- Open the crossword page
- Click on a clue (across or down)
- The corresponding word gets selected
- Write the word (you can use the arrow keys to move from
cell to cell too) using Bengali writing rules. (see Writing
in Bengali)

Writing
in Bengali
Write phonetically. For example to get A
type a; to get B
type aa. For conjuncts (k¤š²¡rl)
write the letters side by side. For example to get Òf

Moving
from cell to cell
The Arrow keys on your keyboard are the primary movement
keys for moving through adjacent cells. When selected, a word
on the puzzle shows grey, with the cell in focus pink. When
a letter is typed it goes in the cell in focus.
You can also move from cell to cell simply by writing the
word normally in the selection. The words break at vowels
and the focus shifts to the adjacent cell.

Switching
direction (across and up-down)
You can use right mouse button (when available) to switch
directions (across to up-down or vice versa). You can also
switch directions by clicking the clues.

Saving
the crossword
You can save the crossword puzzle upto the point you have
played by clicking the Save button, below the crossword. At
the next login, the saved puzzle will be retrieved in that
state and you can play on.

Submitting
the crossword
At any point of the play, you may submit your solution.
At submission you will be informed whether your solution is
correct or not. An incorrect solution may be worked on again
and re-submitted. For a current puzzle, an all correct submission
will get your name published in the space provided.
A puzzle whose solution has already been published (that is
a puzzle from the archive), cannot be submitted.

to get your name published
For a current puzzle, an all correct submission will get
your name published in the space provided. It is automatic.

Solution
checking
Solution for a current puzzle is published the following
week. When a puzzle is submitted at any point of time during
play, you are informed whether you have an all correct solution
or not.
Puzzles from the archive have their solutions also available.
You may see the solution for a puzzle from the archive, by
clicking the solution link below the puzzle.

Browsing
the archive
Click the Archive link below the puzzle and you are taken
to a list of previously published puzzles. Click any puzzle
in the archive to see the puzzle with its clues. You can play
and save. To see a solution click solution link below the
puzzle.

Playing
offline
You can play a crossword puzzle online by turning off
the internet connection after the page downloads. But before
Saving or Submission the internet connection must be restored.
