Hadlee, Nazar to join ICC Global Cricket Academy

Dubai, Oct 13 (UNI) With a view to training and developing the best talent in world cricket, former Test players Dayle Hadlee and Mudassar Nazar will join Rod Marsh at the ICC Global Cricket Academy (GCA) here.

The duo of Hadlee and Nazar would relocate here at the Dubai Sports City to take up their assignments in early next year, according to an ICC statement.

Hadlee has been working as the head bowling coach in New Zealand Cricket, and was previously the head coach of the NZC academy, while Mudassar is currently positioned as director of game development for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

They will work alongside the GCA's director of coaching Marsh.

''The three coaches will design and implement specific elite programmes, provide coaching education courses and support grassroots development to make the GCA a centre of excellence, innovation and education for world cricket,'' the statement said.

Marsh, who is eagerly waiting to work with these two said, ''Dayle and Mudassar are two of the best academy coaches in the world. I cannot wait to start working with them in order to develop programmes that will help to improve cricket globally. We will have a great balance of coaching skills to offer every cricketer who comes to Dubai Sports City.'' Hadlee, who is a veteran of 26 Test and 11 ODIs, was excited about his new job and said, ''I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life and I hope my contribution will have a lasting impact on cricket around the world.'' Meanwhile, Mudassar, a former Pakistan vice captain, was also looking forward to his new job, saying, ''This is a really exciting opportunity to work at the highest level of cricket coaching and development.''
