Ratha Yatra, a major Hindu festival is celebrated every year at Puri, the temple town in Orissa. It is associated with Lord Jagannatha, Lord Balaram (Balabhadra) and Goddess Subhadra. Though originated in Puri, at present this festival is celebrated all over India. Every year the deities of Jagannath, Balaram and Subhadra are installed on huge chariots or Raths pulled by Bhaktas. This Yatra or Jatra is of great significance to the devotees.
